Adaptive reuse of a 6,000 SF building located in Charlotte's Plaza-Midwood district. Formerly the site of Midwood Cleaners, this Central Avenue address is wedged between multiple residential developments and adjacent to 19 acres of greenspace. Redevelopment of the site was completed in 2019.

KINGS COLLEGE

 

Formerly the location of Kings College Dormitories, this site is one block away from Presbyterian Medical Center and the Hawthorne Gold Line Station. Two buildings totaling 33,000 SF will be renovated and converted to medical coworking space. Entitlement for the site is ongoing with construction expected in late 2020.

CONGREGATE

 

This Whiting Avenue Baptist Church was built in 1962 and recently served as the home to Charlotte Christian College until 2019. The building and it's stained-glass windows were resurrected into a 16,000 SF dynamic coworking hub for the NoDa community. Here, we gather together to create new ideas, to innovate, to collaborate, to network, to grow our businesses.

1100 SOUTH BLVD

 

Located in SouthEnd Charlotte, this podium apartment project was delivered in 2016. Built at 110 units/acre, the total build out was 346,000 SF with two levels of structured parking. RKM was a development partner and served as the construction project manager.

LAKE WYLIE WILBANKS

 

Construction of this 20 acre waterfront site adjacent to the Palisades is expected to commence in 2020. The community will feature 12 waterfront lots and 48 interior lake view lots. The topography and elevated views makes this one of the most challenging and most rewarding sites on the lake.

LIBRARY KITCHEN + BAR

 

The library is the oldest structure in Sapphire Valley. It was built around 1864 and was part of a working farm, which produced fresh vegetables, meats and wholesome dairy products for the old Fairfield Inn. The Library was named after the lounge in the old Fairfield Inn and established as a private dining club in 1992. The Library closed in 2010 but was purchased and rebranded as Library Kitchen + Bar after another extensive restoration and expansion in 2016.

BEAR LAKE RESERVE

 

Situated at the edge of Bear Creek Lake, this 2,000 acre destination community is located in the Western NC mountains. The elevation change across the property is 1,200 vertical feet from the highest point to the lake. The property’s amenites include a 6-mile shoreline, 9-hole Nicklaus design golf course, hiking trails, tennis courts, and Lake clubhouse. RKM Resources has provided development consultation and risk management services.

CASHIERS LAKE RESORT

 

Located in Cashiers, NC and positioned around Cashier’s Lake, this 80 acre site is currently in the planning stages of development. The project is slated for a boutique hotel, restaurant, wellness center, and 71 residential units. RKM Resources is the development manager for the project and leading the ongoing lake restoration efforts.

2308 CENTRAL AVENUE

 

Built in 1952 as a service station for the Plaza Midwood area, this site will undergo a renovation and expansion in 2020 with plans for a 2,400 SF restaurant. Site is adjacent to the Pinhouse Taproom and the Village of Commonwealth Community.

This 3.1 acre parcel is located on the edge of Charlotte's Central Business District adjacent to Plaza-Midwood. The existing 14,000 SF building was previously used as a church facility and recently renovated for the Charlotte Lab's Middle School expansion.

Located in the heart of Plaza-Midwood on Thomas Avenue, this salon went through a major renovation and rebranding in 2016.

After securing the best stylists in the area, the team at 1213 Studio has created a full service co-operative salon.
